Your New Role
Join Curtin University’s Medical School and play a key role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. We are seeking a passionate and committed Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Medical Imaging to contribute to the growth and success of our Bachelor of Science (Medical Radiation Science) program.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine academic leadership, teaching excellence, and clinical insight in a role that directly impacts the quality of medical imaging education and practice. You will be part of a collaborative, high-performing team dedicated to delivering an outstanding learning experience for students and advancing the discipline through research and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver innovative, engaging teaching across core and specialised Medical Imaging and Medical Radiation Science theory and practice units within the Bachelor of Science (Medical Radiation Science).
- Lead (ALC) or significantly contribute to (ALB) curriculum design and course enhancement, ensuring alignment with current professional, industry, and accreditation standards.
- Lead development of (ALC) or foster a strong culture of research and scholarly activity (ALB), significantly contributing to the evidence base in medical imaging and medical radiation science education and practice.
- Mentor and support students through their academic and clinical learning journeys, serving as an inspiring role model and educator.
- Lead initiatives for / actively engage with industry and clinical partners to strengthen professional networks and enhance clinical placement opportunities for students.
About You
Selection Criteria
You will bring a blend of clinical expertise, teaching capability, and a passion for supporting student success.
- An experienced scholar with a doctoral qualification in Medical Radiation Science or at least 10 years of clinical experience in a leadership/or senior role in Medical Imaging.
- A passionate educator with current registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
- Proven track record in innovative/high-quality teaching, research, and/or publication.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to engage effectively with both academic peers and students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive and collegial teamwork.

Role Requirements
As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction.
About the Team: Curtin Medical School
The Curtin Medical School (CMS) encompasses the disciplines of Medicine, Laboratory Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science, and Medical Radiation Science. CMS forms part of the Faculty of Health Sciences and is affiliated with two research institutes; the Curtin Medical Research Institute (Curtin MRI) and the enAble Institute for Health Science (enAble).
