Your Opportunity

As an Asset Lifecycle Officer, you will contribute to effective and efficient organisational processes, activities and mechanisms of Vocational Education and Training (VET) services, through the provision of efficiently and effectively managing asset lifecycles through an asset management plan and works programmed across multiple campuses of the East Coast Region.

You will undertake assigned tasks and complete activities in an organised and efficient manner, achieving high levels of customer service with internal and/or external customers, stakeholders and suppliers.

This position reports to the Manager, Infrastructure and Site Services.

This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 30 October 2026 unless otherwise determined.

The position will be based primarily at our Nambour campus, however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
  • Live a safety culture, lead by example and support the Health Safety and Environment Management System to create a TAFE Queensland East Coast-wide safety culture.
  • Coordinate and undertake specific projects as allocated by the Manager.
  • Analyse service delivery asset requirements, consult with stakeholders and document impacts to asset lifecycle maintenance programs and timelines.
  • Analyse data and collate information to create a management plan relating to the provision of asset maintenance services and asset lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the operational aspects of the asset management plan, including the monitoring of expenditure, preparation of reports, planning and analysis of information, investigation and resolution of anomalies, errors, non- compliance issues and implementing remedial actions.
  • Coordinate and prioritise the operational aspects of strategic asset management including the preparation of regular reports and the provision of feedback to management and other stakeholders.
  • Identify legislative and other policy and guideline parameters within which the asset maintenance works programmed is to be completed in order to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare recommendations, strategies and performance indicators to facilitate the implementation of asset management plan.
  • Adhere to and maintain a quality record-keeping system to meet requests for information and statistical and planning purposes.
  • Contribute to the continued success of the organisation through participation in purpose-based networks, team activities, performance management processes and professional development and training programs.
  • Undertake other work as directed.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  1. Understands asset management principles and contributes to the development of project plans by researching and analysing information and making recommendations based on evidence.
  2. Effectively uses skills and capabilities to prioritise work, respond to changing circumstances, meet agreed programme timeframes and deliver quality outcomes.
  3. Builds and sustains positive relationships with team members and stakeholders, works collaboratively, keeps clients informed and treats people with respect and courtesy.
  4. Provides accurate advice on issues related to asset lifecycle responsibilities, takes responsibility for completion of work, is focussed on achieving programme outcomes and remains positive in difficult circumstances.
  5. Presents information clearly and effectively, structures written documentation to ensure clarity, adjusts to the needs of diverse client groups.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

  • C Class manual licence
  • First Aid Certificate

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Forklift Certificate licence
  • Experience with fire systems
  • Operational awareness of Health and Safety practices.
  • Experience with Fire Warden activities
  • Background in working in trade environments
