About the role

As a Lead NDT Technician at AMAP Engineering Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and reliability of critical mining equipment and infrastructure. This full-time position in Mount Isa, QLD, will see you leading a team of technicians in the implementation of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures to identify potential issues and mitigate risks across the mining operations.

What you'll be doing

Supervise and coordinate a team of NDT technicians to deliver comprehensive testing programs

Interpret NDT data and generate detailed reports to identify defects and recommend corrective actions

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members

Ensure all NDT activities comply with relevant standards, regulations and safety protocols

Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to develop testing strategies and implement solutions

Maintain accurate records and documentation of all NDT activities

Continuously improve NDT processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

What we're looking for

Tertiary/Trade qualification in a relevant engineering or technical discipline

Certification in multiple NDT methodologies (e.g. UT, MT, PT, ET)

Substantial experience (5+ years) as an NDT Technician in a mining or heavy industrial environment

Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex data

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
