Waverley Council is seeking two experienced Senior Project Managers to lead and deliver Council’s capital and major projects with excellence in cost, time, quality and risk.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Develop, manage and execute projects in accordance with project management procedures
  • Engage and manage key internal and external stakeholders across diverse interests
  • Apply a variety of engagement strategies to ensure alignment with corporate goals
  • Oversee procurement, tendering and contract management processes and compliance
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of forward capital works plans
  • Provide project management services (non-delegated) on selected initiatives as directed by the Executive Manager, Major Projects
  • Deliver timely and relevant project reporting
  • Lead and mentor a small team ( up to 3 direct reports)

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar related area.
  • Demonstrated and significant broad project management experience in all phases and functions of project management in the public and/or private sectors.
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of capital infrastructure projects including managing multi-disciplinary consultants, contract administration, tender development, system and project tracking principles and applying value for money engineering principles.
  • Extensive experience in design and construction stage procurement and contract administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to produce written material of a high standard.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with emphasis on contract and construction management, value engineering and program management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislation, regulations, design standards, and code of practice in relation to the construction and management of infrastructure.
  • Commitment, experience and knowledge in improving the environmental performance of projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of development and approval processes (in general)
  • An understanding of and commitment to EEO.
  • White Card General Safety Induction Training.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
