About the Opportunity

The Small Business Commission Advisor is responsible for assessing enquires, complaints and disputes received in accordance with legislation administered by SASBC. This may include case management, pre-mediation assistance and conducting investigations, as well as making recommendations on appropriate action and enforcement activities in line with relevant legislation and government and SASBC policies.

The Small Business Commission Advisor will also provide advice to small business owners and stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Offices processes, practices, and procedures.

About the Business

The Small Business Commission SA (SBC) is an independent statutory Office of the South Australian Government within the Attorney-General's Department.

The functions of the office are to:

Facilitate alternative dispute resolution processes between small businesses, and between small businesses and state or local government.

Advocate on behalf of the small business community, or a section of it, regarding collective issues.

Collaborate with stakeholders and engage with small businesses to provide information and guidance.

Regulate by administering and enforcing legislative powers and responsibilities assigned to the Small Business Commissioner.

Deliver a fair, timely and consistent services to, and on behalf of, South Australian small businesses.

Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
