Location: Perth (Bayswater)

We are looking to employ a full-time Environmental Technician to join our Perth team to help us continue to deliver on our vision to “leave a lasting impression on landscapes and people”.

Our team of highly driven professionals have a core focus of providing quality restoration projects for our environment. Team members are high performing, innovative and are focused on quality. Our ideal candidate has a base knowledge of local environments in the Perth area and issues commonly faced in managing them, gained through practical experience. They will also be a self-confident individual that knows their role within a team, being able to provide both support and leadership as required.

Main Activities and Responsibilities

Support Team Leaders and lead field crews in the delivery of our weed control, revegetation and seed collection projects by:

· Undertaking field and warehouse activities relating to native seed collection, revegetation, and weed management

· Having responsibility for field activity quality control

· Ensuring that internal standards and HS&E legislation are met, with safety given paramount importance

· Working closely with project managers, supervisors and team leaders to understand and deliver project scopes

· Tracking progress, productivity, and timesheets through templates, registers, databases, and GIS

· Training and mentoring casual field technicians, and

· Other related duties including but not limited to revegetation monitoring, site maintenance, equipment maintenance, site preparation, seed processing, seed testing, and herbarium development, etc.

Experience and Qualifications

· Passion for the natural environment

· Certificate in Conservation and Land Management / Horticulture or related qualification (desirable)

· Current driver's license required

· Field based experience in the revegetation, environmental, landscaping, forestry, horticulture or related industries

· Knowledge of Perth native plant and weed species (desirable)

· Experience in manual and chemical weed management techniques (desirable)

Field work is the primary function of this role, requiring staff to be physically fit as field works are varied and can be physically demanding.

An attractive salary package will be negotiated based on experience and skill set of the successful applicant.
