The Opportunity: Education and Professional Development Officer
Employment Type: Permanent Part-time (maximum four days per week).
Work Environment: Flexible; some off-shift and weekend hours may be required to meet educational needs across a diverse and occasionally remote workforce.
Location: Hellenic Community Aged Care.
Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Coordinator Hellenic Admin, and Site Manager.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As our Education and Professional Development Officer, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for our healthcare staff. You will be the central force in enhancing clinical staff capabilities and ensuring we deliver the highest standard of health and personal care.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Program Development: Design, source, and implement comprehensive educational programs, workshops, and curriculum to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
Competency Assurance: Develop and utilize clinical competency checklists to assess and validate the skills of nurses and personal care workers.
Mentorship & Support: Provide individualized instruction and mentoring; facilitate on-boarding, student, and trainee ship placement programs.
Compliance & Quality: Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, document and report on educational progress, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Collaboration: Establish effective relationships with operational coordinators and stakeholders to address training needs and improve staff performance.

We are seeking a proactive leader with a commitment to continuous professional development and a compassionate, empathetic attitude towards our residents.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Current license as a Registered Nurse or other relevant healthcare professional.
At least five years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum of one year of experience in a mentor or education role.
Proven work experience as an Education and Professional Development Officer or similar role is highly desirable.
Experience in curriculum development and evaluation.
Demonstrated knowledge of the health needs of the older population, including chronic illness management.
Key Skills:
Excellent understanding of clinical policies and procedures.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to monitor, implement, and modify quality improvements within a healthcare setting.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to regulatory guidelines.
