The opportunity
Are you a great communicator who strives to achieve the best results? As a Credit Control Officer, you will play a vital role in helping customers to refocus and get back on track. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual with strong analytical and communication skills. The Credit Control team is based in Surry Hills just blocks from Central station. However, you will enjoy our flexible approach to working from home and office once trained.
Responsibilities
Review, maintain and recover arrears on delinquent loans and credit facilities, including personal loans, home loans, credit cards, Line of Credit accounts (LOC) and overdraft accounts.
Review, maintain and recover on overdrawn savings accounts.
Work closely with customers experiencing financial stress to develop and implement strategies to manage repayments and repay debt, including offering Hardship assistance and temporary payment arrangements.
Identify potential problem accounts and recommend solutions to minimize loss to both our customers and the Bank ensuring results are achieved without comprising goodwill or our mutual banking values.
What we are looking for
Proven experience in a Collections or debt recovery role with 2 + years’ experience, preferably gained in a Bank or large financial institution;
the experience and ability to work and manage new and aged arrears accounts;
a sound understanding of debt collection and associated legal obligations;
highly developed communication, negotiation and problem solving skills;
the ability to remain calm and professional when faced with push back or adversity;
a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer service experience;
a strong sense of conviction to achieve the best outcome for both the customer and the Bank; and
the ability to work unsupervised or cooperatively as part of a team.
