THE ROLE
1. Financial Close and Reporting
- Own and drive month end and reporting period close processes
- Involvement in complex accounting areas (revenue recognition, intercompany and consolidations)
- Accounting for co-investments in various fund strategies and coordination with balance sheet lending in compliance with accounting standards
- Lead and oversee balance sheet reconciliations
- Deliver meaningful insight by reviewing divisional P&L and preparing value-added commentary for management
- Provide analytical reviews, margin analysis and ad-hoc insights to support decision making
2. Core processes, transactions and capital management
- Enhance core finance operations including transaction settlements, cash management, invoicing, WIP recovery and receivables
- Lead end-to-end management of commission, rebate and fee processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally on new and existing transactions between investor operations, treasury and investment teams
3. Financial Reporting – Group, subsidiary and regulatory
- Own key deliverables in the Group’s half-year and year-end ASX financial reporting and audit processes including technical accounting papers
- Lead legal entity control
- Take accountability for preparation and external audit of subsidiary financial statements
- Oversee and review regulatory capital calculations
4. Continuous improvement and building team capability
- Maintain and enhance finance process and procedure documentation to ensure best practice and strong controls
- Develop and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
A BIT ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a CA/CPA qualified Accountant with Financial Services experience (Asset Management experience highly desired), having worked in a large, complex business.
You will have excellent technical accounting skills, excel skills, month end experience and an eye for process improvement.
We are looking for a confident communicator who enjoys building strong working relationships across all areas of the business.
You will have a strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards and be career-minded, looking to progress to Manager level in the not-too-distant future.
