As we continue to grow, we are seeking a commercially minded and analytically strong finance professional to drive operational performance and improve financial visibility across the business.
Role Overview:
The Strategic Finance & Operations Manager will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and department heads to assess operational efficiency, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure the business is aligned with its financial and strategic goals. This is not a traditional finance role—it requires someone who understands how finance intersects with manufacturing processes, supply chains, and resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct end-to-end financial analysis of business operations, including production efficiency, costing models, and profitability by product line
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with department managers
Identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks across the manufacturing and supply chain functions and provide data-backed recommendations
Monitor and improve manufacturing KPIs (e.g. cost per hour, machine utilisation, overhead allocation)
Partner with operational leaders to implement process improvements and cost-control strategies
Review pricing models, supplier agreements, and material usage for margin improvement
Support scenario modelling, capital investment analysis, and business case development
Provide reporting packs and dashboards for monthly management review
Ensure financial systems and procedures are fit-for-purpose and scalable
Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in finance, business analysis, or commercial roles, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors
CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent experience)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify and present complex data
Proficient in Excel, Xero, and financial modelling
Solid understanding of cost accounting and operations performance metrics
Experience working with or advising SME-sized businesses
High attention to detail, commercial acumen, and ability to influence stakeholders
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and flexibly
