Bookkeeper - Property & Investments | Ultimo

An established private property and investment group based in Ultimo is looking for a hands-on Bookkeeper to join their small, professional team. The family group is partly relocating from Melbourne to Sydney and continues to grow across property development, creative ventures, and investment activities.

You'll support the Owner and Financial Analyst across several entities, covering bookkeeping, reporting, and general administration in a varied and rewarding role.

What you'll be doing

• Post journals and assist with month-end reporting
• Prepare and lodge BAS/GST
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations
• Accounts Payable: process invoices, payments, manage utilities, insurance, and other recurring bills
• Accounts Receivable: issue invoices, track payments, follow up outstanding accounts
• Manage credit card expenses and approvals
• Process payroll for 4 Sydney staff
• Assist with the Director's tax documentation and investment reporting
• Support day-to-day admin tasks and greet visitors for meetings

About you

• Strong bookkeeping experience across multiple entities or trusts
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
• Working knowledge of Xero or similar accounting platforms
• Professional, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information
• Curious and adaptable - open to learning new systems, including AI and automation tools

The details

• Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 + Super (negotiable)
• Location: Ultimo - brand-new office, close to public transport
• Hours: 4 days in office, WFH Fridays possible after onboarding
• Team: small finance group of 3 (Bookkeeper, Financial Analyst & Financial Controller in Melbourne)
• Systems: Sage Intacct / Xero
