Production Team Leader

We are looking for a person with who is capable of leading a small team, who can set the example and push those around them to excel. If you have excellent hand skills, coupled with trade quality know-how and experience, a high level of skill with hand and power tools, great attention to detail and an excellent work ethic we at Sila would love to have you as a member of the team. We value initiative and forward thinking, welcoming and rewarding ideas and examples that encourage improvements in quality and efficiency. Qualifications & experience

Factory or production experience preferred but not mandatory.

Trade experience or similar highly advantageous.

Forklift ticket preferred but not mandatory.

Extensive experience using power tools, specifically grinders and ratchet guns.

Minimum 2-5 years of experience using power tools, specifically grinders and ratchet guns is required.

Be physically fit, motivated and reliable with a keen initiative and drive to go above and beyond when called for.

A knowledge of concrete or mould development would be advantageous.

Able to lift and work with materials which weigh 20-25kgs on a daily basis.

Ability to work on feet for long hours.

Ability to lead a small production team of 3-4 people.

6 months to 2 years of experience leading production teams is preferred but not essential.

Good grasp of written and spoken English.

Good time management and job planning.

Ability to work with others and follow management expectations.

Must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position.

Tasks & responsibilities

Quality assurance.

Procedure and process development.

Planning and implementing multistage projects.

Managing task delegation and priorities.

Stripping and assembling steel mould components

Using air and power tools.

Mixing and pouring specialised concrete.

Grinding, cutting and sanding steel and concrete components.

Housekeeping and general upkeep.

Mould and material preparation

Removing and stacking materials, components and finished products using all manner of forklifts.

Assembling precast refractory shapes.
