We’re looking for a reliable Tractor Operator to join our team managing vegetation across council areas. You’ll operate tractors and associated slashing/mowing equipment to ensure safe, visually appealing, and environmentally sustainable public spaces.

If you have tractor experience, take pride in your work, and can work safely in community and roadside environments, this role is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities

Operate tractors with slashing, mulching, or mowing attachments in roadside, parkland, and rural environments.

Conduct pre-start and post-operation checks, routine maintenance, and minor repairs.

Follow vegetation management schedules, completing allocated areas on time.

Apply safe work practices, including traffic management controls.

Identify and report hazards, damaged infrastructure, or environmental issues.

Assist with brush cutting, chainsaw work, or herbicide application as required.

Maintain accurate job sheets, timesheets, and equipment records.

Engage respectfully with the public when working in community areas.

What You’ll Bring

Demonstrated experience operating tractors with slashing/mowing attachments.

Knowledge of safe work practices in traffic management and vegetation control.

Ability to perform basic machinery servicing and maintenance.

OH&S White Card (Construction Induction).

Highly Regarded

ChemCert (AQF3) for herbicide application.

Traffic Control accreditation.

First Aid certificate.

Current HR or MR Driver’s Licence.

Previous experience in council vegetation management or civil works.
