We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Solar & Battery Installation Electrician to join our team and drive successful project delivery. We currently operate all over the Sydney basin down to the North of Wollongong. You will be starting on site everyday with the majority of our work in large scale commercial projects.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a certified and experienced Electrician and Solar & Battery Installer to lead installation projects with professionalism and efficiency. The successful candidate will manage teams, ensure compliance and deliver projects on time while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role requires strong decision-making, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution:
Run solar and battery installation projects with oversight from the Operations Manager.
Receive project details and instructions from the Operations Manager.
Complete projects within set timelines and deadlines, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Perform electrical work alongside a Qualified Electrician and supervise apprentice electricians and laborers.
Carry out required installation works with precision and efficiency.
Team Leadership:
Lead and delegate tasks to a team of electricians, apprentices, and laborers.
Conduct toolbox talks, pre-start briefings (site conditions, SWMS, daily brief).
Foster a safe and collaborative work environment, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols.
Decision-Making & Problem Solving:
Make independent minor design changes as needed during installations.
Escalate major design changes to the Operations Manager for approval.
Address on-site challenges promptly and effectively.
Documentation & Reporting:
Take clear, high-quality photos (pre-commencement, progress, completion, and any damages) for reporting and rebate purposes (via FormBay).
Sign relevant forms with clients and submit internally to the Operations Manager for review (Formbay).
Complete and QA forms before submission to ensure accuracy.
Site Management:
Ensure site clean up is completed before leaving each job.
Maintain a safe and organised work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain the company vehicle, keeping it clean, tidy and stocked with necessary materials.
Use the provided company vehicle and fuel card for work-related travel, including site visits and material pickups, with the vehicle permitted to be taken home daily.
Ensure no unauthorised use of the company vehicle unless discussed otherwise.
Report any vehicle issues or service requirements to the Operations Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
Certified Electrician (valid license).
SAA Certified Solar Installer.
Valid driver's license with the ability to drive a manual vehicle and confidence in driving with a trailer.
Preferred:
Proven experience in the solar and battery installation industry.
Any level of experience in solar and battery installation will be considered.
Experience leading and managing teams on installation projects.
Minimum 6 months to 1 year of team leadership experience is preferred.
SAA Certified battery installer. Training will be provided otherwise.

Personal presentation in company uniform.
Comfortable liaising with clients around project milestones and general questions where necessary.
Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Operations Manager.
