Divine Cosmetics is a leading manufacturer of personal care and pet grooming products, proudly serving both Australian and international markets since 2006. We are currently seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our manufacturing team and play an integral role in the development, optimisation, and scaling of our cosmetic formulations and production processes.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the Production Team, the ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a strong passion for chemical engineering and process innovation.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and refine manufacturing processes for skincare, haircare, and pet care products.
Perform lab-scale experiments and lead scale-up trials to support new product development and continuous improvement.
Evaluate and select raw materials, equipment, and processing methods to enhance product quality, performance, and consistency.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise production activities to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Monitor and adjust critical process parameters such as mixing times and temperatures to maintain product uniformity and quality.
Conduct routine quality control tests to verify that products meet specified physiochemical and sensory standards.
Investigate process deviations and quality issues through root cause analysis; implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.
Analyse production performance and recommend process improvements to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and optimize throughput.
Maintain comprehensive documentation, including batch records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process validation reports.
Oversee the operation and maintenance of key processing equipment such as mixing tanks, pumps, and homogenizers.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory updates, and advancements in manufacturing technology.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
1+ years of experience in a chemical or process engineering role in personal care or pharmaceutical industries.
Strong understanding of emulsion chemistry, surfactants, preservatives, and active ingredients.
Strong knowledge of chemical interactions, process scale-up, and industrial mixing technologies.
·Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and cosmetic regulatory standards.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Proficiency with ERP Software.
Renumeration:
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of $39.50 per hour ($78,052 per annum).
