About the role

We are seeking an experienced Metal Roofer to join our team as a Site Estimator. This full-time role is based in our Sydney, NSW office and will involve working closely with our Project Management teams to provide accurate measurements and order materials with our suppliers and support the delivery of high-quality roofing projects.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct site assessments to measure and quantify material needs based on quotes and scope.

Prepare accurate take-offs and cost estimates using site inspections, plans, and specs.

Liaise with the sales team to confirm the full scope of works and ensure alignment.

Confirm roofing material types and colour selections directly with clients.

Forward-order materials ahead of job allocation deadlines.

Coordinate timely and accurate deliveries to job sites.

Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing and ensure availability.

Review and reconcile end-of-month (EOM) invoices to identify discrepancies.

Maintain clear documentation on material orders, delivery records, and costs.

Monitor all work orders and site stock requirements in coordination with Project Planners.

Identify opportunities to reduce material waste and optimise usage.

Support field crews by providing clarity and guidance on material specifications.

Conducting on-site inspections to gather measurements , additional job information and order materials for accurate material orders from Our Suppliers

Collaborating with project managers and site teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements

Advising on material quantities, labour, and equipment needed for roofing installations

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Metal Roofer with a thorough understanding of construction estimating practices

Strong technical knowledge of metal roofing systems, materials, and installation techniques

Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts

Excellent numerical and analytical skills to produce accurate cost estimates

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate technical information

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve estimation issues

Familiarity with construction software and estimating tools (e.g., Service m8 , , Excel, Virtual estimator preferred but not essential )
