Role Description

As our Senior Estimator, you will be accountable for the entire estimating process, from sales through to production. You’ll play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting project feasibility, and ensuring a smooth handover into construction. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of residential projects in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full estimating process, from initial tender through to project handover.

Prepare accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and trade/supplier comparisons.

Liaise with designers, consultants, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and clarify scope.

Provide cost advice to the sales team and ensure all estimates reflect design and construction requirements.

Work closely with the project team to maintain budget control throughout delivery.

Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.

Proven experience as an Estimator within residential construction (custom homes, duplexes, or townhouses preferred).

Ability to work independently in a small team environment, often unsupervised.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

A proactive team player who is eager to contribute their skills, knowledge, and ideas.

Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (experience with Cubit & Buildertrend or similar platforms is advantageous).

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods

Minimum 10 years of experience in the role

Experience in estimating costs for residential construction projects

Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications

Proficiency in using estimating software and tools, ideally Cubit & Buildertrend

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Relevant degree or certification in construction or a related field
