We are a not-for-profit community legal centre that is passionate about what we do and committed to justice for clients and the community. Our multidisciplinary team is made up of solicitors, tenant advocates, social workers, financial counsellors, older people’s rights advocates, community legal education staff, program support staff and volunteers. This role is part of our Senior Leadership Team and reports to the CEO.

About our People and Culture Manager role…

This is a new role whose primary purpose is to provide effective people and culture management and guidance, including strategic and operational outcomes. This role will partner with the CEO, Executive Team and Senior Leadership Team to enhance organisational capability, strengthen culture, employee experience and performance, support diversity and build a work environment that reflects our values.

The role will focus on the employee journey including attraction and retention, induction and on-boarding, separation, work health and safety, worker’s compensation, learning and development, staff recognition and engagement, and managing performance.

This is a part-time role (30 hours per week) and will initially be appointed on a two-year fixed term contract.

What an average day might look like…

Provide strategic and operational people and culture guidance to the organisation.

Oversee/advise on employee journey from entry to exit (recruitment, retention, management)

Drive employee engagement across the organisation through innovative people and culture strategies.

Build a supportive, collaborative and high-performing work environment that values constructive feedback, clear communication, and continual growth.

Support workforce well-being and create best practices for safety and compliance.

Lead the implementation and monitoring of culture, engagement, diversity and inclusion frameworks, programs and initiatives.

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and awards in respect of staff entitlements.

Assist to develop, document, and monitor relevant procedures and policies.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders (eg legal, community, corporate, etc.) to achieve positive client or organisational outcomes.

Annual salary $122,300.37 - $125,037.73 (pro rata and depending on experience) plus super and up to $18,550 per annum salary packaging options.
