Our client is looking for a Risk Officer to join their team on a full-time basis for an initial 3-month temporary contract. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an emerging risk professional to gain valuable experience within a reputable and well-established organisation based in Perth.

Your new role

As a Risk Officer, your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and oversee risk assessments, ensuring all identified risks are appropriately rated, monitored, and escalated in alignment with internal risk management policies.
  
• Prepare and present risk management reports for senior leadership and governance bodies.
  
• Participate in meetings focused on compliance and risk-related matters.
  
• Promote a proactive risk culture by encouraging staff to identify and engage in risk management activities.
  
• Identify risks that require further investigation and formal reporting.
  
• Deliver training on the organisation's risk management system and support continuous improvement of risk capabilities.
  
• Assign ownership and monitor compliance with legal and regulatory obligations across the organisation.
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualification in business administration, risk management, or a related discipline
  
• Hands-on experience with risk management systems and tools
  
• Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  
• Familiarity with organisational change processes and quality improvement initiatives
  
• Solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies and risk management principles
  
• Ability to produce comprehensive risk reports, including analysis and recommended mitigation strategies
