Service Technician – Fire Protection Equipment

Key Responsibilities
Generate new business leads, follow up enquiries, and convert opportunities into successful outcomes.
Conduct scheduled maintenance and testing of fire protection equipment, including fire extinguishers, hose reels, emergency lighting systems and egress.
Perform detailed inspections and identify system deficiencies in line with Australian Standards.
Provide technical advice and support to customers on the correct type, use and maintenance of fire equipment.
Respond to emergency call-outs.
Maintain accurate service records using our asset management system, Uptick (training provided).
Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.
About the Role
We're looking for a motivated Service Technician to join our growing team. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, testing, and inspecting fire protection equipment to ensure safety and compliance across commercial and industrial premises.
What We're Looking For
Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing, or equivalent fire safety qualification, with willingness to obtain Certificate II.
At least 2 years' experience servicing and maintaining buildings' essential safety provisions and fire safety equipment.
Proven ability to generate leads and close sales.
Strong technical understanding of fire safety equipment.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
Current Australian driver's licence (minimum Class C) with a clean driving record.
Ability to provide a current police clearance and Working With Children Check (required for access to specific sites).
Knowledge of Australian Standards AS 1851, AS 2444, AS 2293 for fire equipment maintenance and exit & emergency light testing.
Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work visa with unrestricted work rights.
Ability to use Uptick Software, advantageous but no essential.
