The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our office-based team. The Accounts Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports. The role is also vital in maintaining the club’s membership database. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to work independently in a member-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records using Xero accounting software

Manage accounts payable and receivable

Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions

Daily banking and reconciliation

Preparation of the annual budget and regular forecasting

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

Communicate with clients and vendors regarding financial matters

Process fortnightly payroll

Preparation of monthly PAYG and Superannuation, quarterly BAS and annual Payroll Tax return.

Assist with completing the year-end process

Liaising with external accountant for monthly finalisation.

Qualifications & Experience

Certificate IV or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or related field (minimum).

Proven experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally in a club, hospitality, or small business environment.

Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge of payroll and statutory reporting requirements.

Experience with POS systems and club management software is desirable.
