AHA Great Southern operates in the not-for-profit sector offering a regional service to people with mental health conditions. With a 40-year history in the region, AHA is entering an exciting period of growth and development.
We offer a range of services that includes NDIS services, Outreach services, as well as supported accommodation through our Transitional Housing program and Community Supported Residential Units (CSRU). Our Community Supported Residential Units (CSRU) provide medium to long term supported accommodation for up to 11 residents in a community-based home-like setting. Our Support Workers provide support to residents /participants experiencing mental health challenges in their recovery journey by building independence and meeting individual goals.
We are looking for compassionate and committed individuals to join our team and have the following positions available:
1 x 0.9 FTE (35 average hours per week) at our Community Support Residential units (CSRU) facility on a permanent part time basis. This role operates on a 24-hour roster and involves shift work, including sleep overs and weekend work.

Casual workers to join our Outreach Program and Community Support Residential units (CSRU).
Other Key Responsibilities include;
Apply recovery-oriented and trauma-informed principles to support residents/ participants in achieving their individual goals and outcomes, including (but not limited to) the enhancement of independent living skills, increased community participation, personal choice, and decision-making.
Collaborate with designated residents/ participants to oversee the delivery of their individualised recovery plans, ensuring that supports are tailored to their goals and incorporate opportunities to develop and enhance independent living.
As a key worker to residents/ participants, support the maintenance of a safe, clean, and functional living environment by working alongside them to build on their strengths, increase resilience, and maintain their independent living.
Provide practical support and prompts to residents/ participants in completing daily routines, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication compliance, while promoting independence.
Uphold and adhere to Licensing an Accreditation Regularly Unit (LARU) Code of Conduct (this is required for CSRU positions only).
About You
To be successful in this role applicants will need;
A Cert IV in Mental Health or Community Services
Demonstrated experience in the mental health industry or community services (preferably in a community environment)
Well developed understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed principles
Demonstrated ability to foster a supportive environment while maintaining professional boundaries with residents and staff.

Mandatory Requirements
The successful candidate must also hold;
a current National Police Check (or be willing to obtain)
a current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to maintain) and
a current WA Drivers Licence.
