The Opportunity
This is a maternity position from January to November 2026, with further allowance for a handover period. Council is willing to consider shared roles to cover the period.
The position reports to the Procurement Manager and manages a team of four, covering Contract Management and fleet management.
During the period the team will deploy a fleet telemetry and booking system, improve data on a contract management system, enable council users onto a contract management system, develop contract management and category management skills and capability across Council, and improve templates and systems in use.
The position will lead these initiatives, along with other initiatives. Key stakeholders are all contract managers across Council with a key focus on improving their capability and skill.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly manage three staff
- Manage the deployment of a vehicle telemetry and booking system in conjunction with the fleet officer, facilities staff and IT
- Advise staff on contract management improvements in practise
- Assist and train Council staff in order to improve contract management across Council
- Drive improvements in the use and capability of the ReadyTech contract management system
- Oversee the management of stationery and fleet contracts
- Maintain momentum in the existing team’s strategic plan

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- High level leadership and communication skills.
- Proven knowledge of contract management, and category management will be highly regarded
- The ability to work collaboratively across the organisation
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check
