About the role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking an experienced leader to head our Internal Audit and Risk Management team.
You will set the direction for governance and compliance, provide strategic insights that influence decisions, and drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and improvement. Using your expertise in audit, risk, and compliance, you will guide the organisation towards resilience and sound decision making.
This is a high-impact leadership role where you will inspire your team, build trusted stakeholder relationships and strengthen risk awareness across the PTA.

About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications and current membership of Institute of Internal Auditors as a Professional Member, or of CPA Australia as a CPA; or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand as a Chartered Accountant or Institute of Public Accountants as a Member of the Institute of Public Accountants.
Extensive experience in internal audit and risk management in a commercial and / or complex work environment.
Significant experience developing internal audit plans.
Considerable experience and knowledge of legislative framework and standards relating to financial governance, audit and risk management.
Demonstrated ability to lead people and teams and manage resources towards a commercially focussed outcome.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity available for an immediate start. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
