Company Overview:

David’s HotPot is a proudly Australian-grown dining brand, specializing in authentic Sichuan flavor HotPot. Since establishment, we have rapidly expanded across major cities in Australia. As we continue our ambitious growth plans in the coming years, our demand for talented professionals is greater than ever.

We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Cook for our vibrant restaurant located in 276 Neerim Rd, Carnegie VIC 3163 to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning menus, estimating food quantities, and contributing to dish development — with a particular focus on appetizers and cold dishes, including fine-tuning flavors and recipes to meet customer preferences and seasonal variations.

Inspect and evaluate the quality and freshness of all ingredients prior to preparation and service.

Prepare a variety of hotpot soup bases, carefully adjusting ingredients, spice levels, and flavor profiles according to individual customer tastes and dietary needs.

Cook a range of traditional Chinese dishes, such as wontons, rice noodles, and other specialty items, using authentic methods to preserve the cuisine’s original taste and cultural character.

Monitor and adjust cooking equipment temperatures to ensure optimal cooking conditions and prevent overcooking or undercooking.

Maintain consistency and high standards in food presentation and portioning, ensuring each dish meets quality expectations.

Uphold strict food safety and hygiene protocols in accordance with relevant health and regulatory requirements.

Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations and timely service, particularly during high-demand periods.

Skills & Experience Required:

Certificate IV in commercial cookery and minimum 1 year of experience as a Cook, with a focus on Sichuan or Chinese cuisine preferred.

Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality food.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Flexibility to adapt recipes and techniques.

Manage multiple orders and prioritizing tasks.

Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.

Able and willing to work on weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shifts.

If you are ready to take on this important role and contribute to the continued success of David’s HotPot, we look forward to receiving your application and working together to achieve great things!
