About the Business

Kartel Catering is a well-established culinary team based in the CBD. Along with our catering service, we operate two cafés that offer a wide range of fresh house made savoury/sweet items using seasonal produce.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook on a full-time basis. In this role you will be required to adhere to all health and safety standards and will be responsible for preparing consistent, high quality food products.

Ideally you will have exceptional time management, communication and organisation skills and the ability to work individually or as part of a team. High attention to detail is also a must.

Specific duties and requirements for the position include;

Have a passion for cooking

Garnish, season and present food

Food preparation such as washing, cutting, chopping, weighing and mixing ingredients.

Cook food using a variety of different cooking methods and ensuring minimal food wastage

Prepare appetizers, soups and salads among others

Understanding of and ability to adhere to strict health and safety guidelines/standards

Receive, store and rotate stock as required

The ideal candidate will hold relevant qualifications (minimum Certificate III) and/or have at least 3 years previous experience in the same/similar role.

The successful applicant will be rewarded with a salary of $75,000 - $80,000 excluding superannuation.
