The position is very much “hands on” and the applicant should be able to lead by example, particularly in manual movement of stock and shelf replenishment. As a Duty Manager you are responsible for the following tasks:

Running of the entire store in the absence of the store manager and assistant manager

Taking initiative in ensuring that customers are satisfied and employee interactions with customers are positive.

Handling cash and end of day checking

Developing and coaching your team

Take a one team approach to meet sales targets, cost control and rostering

Presentation, merchandising and stock management

Meet audit and compliance standards

Assist and work alongside the Store and Assistant Manager with all operations of the business

Assist in Storeroom and Delivery duties

Experience with electronic stock ordering

Experience in dealing with company representatives

General computer skills

Demonstrated experience in management, employee supervision and rostering

Excellent time management and problem-solving skills

The salary for this position is higher in the evenings and on weekends as they attract penalty rates.
