Communication and Engagement Officer – NSW Government

• $550 - $600 p/d + super (based on experience)
• Sydney CBD / WFH
• Contract until 30/06/2026 w/ extensions

Primary Purpose of the Role:

Lead and deliver high-quality communications and stakeholder engagement to support business priorities. Provide clear, consistent messaging and build positive relationships with internal and external audiences.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop and implement communications and engagement plans, ensuring content is clear, targeted and aligned to organisational goals
• Partner with business units to produce strategic collateral, including digital and printed content, to support key initiatives
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including communities, industry groups and government representatives
• Coordinate and deliver proactive and reactive media activities, including social media, campaigns, branding and issues management
• Prepare briefings, talking points, reports and other materials for senior executives and decision-makers

Essential Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Media or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering strategic communications and engagement programs
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
• Excellent writing and editing skills across a range of content types — media releases, speaking notes, fact sheets, reports and digital channels
• Ability to manage complex information and present it in clear, plain English
