About the role

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our construction team at Second2None constructions'. As a key member of our skilled trades workforce, this full-time role will see you take on a leadership position, overseeing and supporting a small team of carpenters on site. Work is mainly based on the Mornington peninsula.

What you'll be doing

Lead, supervise and mentor a team of carpenters and/or apprentices to ensure all work is completed to the highest standards

Interpret plans and drawings to oversee the construction and installation of structural and finishing carpentry elements

Assist in the review and coordination of project schedules and timelines

Liaise clients and other trades to ensure seamless project delivery

Carry out hands-on carpentry work as required

Ensure compliance with all health, safety and quality requirements

What we're looking for

Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification

White Card certification is required for this position

Experience as a Leading Hand Carpenter, with a proven track record of leading and motivating teams

A minimum of 2-3 years of Leading Hand Carpenter experience is required

Excellent knowledge of residential construction methods and techniques

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, contractors and other stakeholders

Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications

Willing to learn to install stratco patios

Australian work authorisation is required for this position
