A great opportunity for a Junior/Graduate Accountant to join our well-established CPA accounting firm in Mount Waverley in Melbourne. It is a full-time position to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

Data entry and bookkeeping;

Preparation of individual tax returns and activity statements (BAS/IAS);

Assistance with preparation of corporate financial statements and tax returns, including partnerships, trusts and companies;

Preparation of accurate work papers and files to the Director's review;

Liaison with ATO and ASIC;

Administration and accounting support as required;

Report directly to the Director FCPA.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Work right in Australia – must hold Permanent Residence status;

Obtained university accounting degree or tertiary accounting qualification;

6 to 18 months work experience (preferable not essential);

Great computer skills with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Cloud apps;

Experience with accounting/bookkeeping software (preferably Xero and Handisoft) would be advantageous but not necessary;

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; Good handwriting; Good command of English both spoken and written;

Experience in paperless office;

Study towards CPA, or meet the entrance requirements;

Self-motivated, be keen to learn and develop with the business in the long term;

Well organised, great attention to details and good time management skills;

Good work ethic and a committed team player;

Own motor vehicle (preferable but not necessary as public transport close by)
