About Us

Morgan Conley is a well-established boutique law firm located in the Brisbane CBD with a thriving commercial, litigation and insolvency practice. We operate a collaborative practice, and you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from each of our four experienced directors.

We are conveniently located in 239 George Street, with easy access to Queen Street Mall and public transport. The building includes recently renovated end-of-trip facilities including showers, lockers and secure bike racks.

About the role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a junior solicitor. You will work directly with experienced partners with a particular focus on commercial transactions, commercial litigation and insolvency.

Your duties will include:

Providing advice to clients;

Document drafting and review, including court documents;

Court appearances and mentions;

Research of case law and legislation;

Assistance with commercial litigation matters predominantly in the District and Supreme Courts of Queensland and Federal Court of Australia.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who is looking to progress their career in commercial transactions, litigation or insolvency, and get more hands-on experience on a broad range of matters than you would receive at a larger firm.

Your salary will be commensurate with your experience.

About you

The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, confident, reliable and willing to work as part of a close-knit team.

Ideal background and skills include:

2+ years’ experience in commercial transactions, litigation and/or insolvency;

A good understanding of technology and strong typing ability;

An interest in appearing in court, and willingness to do so;

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;

Strategic thinking;

A quick learner with the ability to grasp new concepts;

A team player;

Strong time management and organisational skills.
