W Talent is exclusively representing a respected Melbourne construction company seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a boutique residential development on the Mornington Peninsula.

The Project

Our client is delivering a mixed-use development featuring retail and residential components across multiple levels. This project presents a straightforward build over a 15-month program with no basement.

The structure is already underway with an experienced Site Manager managing operations, and the project benefits from established resources and well-planned logistics.

The Challenge

While the build itself is straightforward, this role demands exceptional stakeholder management capabilities. The high-profile location requires meticulous management of Construction Management Plans (CMP) and Traffic Management Plans (TMP), with significant council oversight and urban logistics to navigate. Our client needs someone who can manage authority relationships with transparency and professionalism from day one.

The Role

You'll operate from their South Melbourne head office with regular site visits to the Peninsula as required (typically 1-2 times per week). You'll work alongside a highly experienced Construction Manager at Associate Director level, providing senior oversight and support.

Your key responsibilities include:

Overall project delivery within budget and program

Management of stakeholder relationships, particularly council and local authorities

Oversight of CMP and TMP implementation and compliance

Budget control and financial reporting

Program management and coordination

Quality and safety leadership

Coordination with the Site Manager and CA

What Our Client Is Looking For

They need a Project Manager who can genuinely hit the ground running—someone with proven experience managing authority relationships and navigating complex urban logistics. The location and stakeholder sensitivity require someone who has managed similar challenges before.

Essential Experience:

Proven track record as a Project Manager on apartments or mixed-use developments

Strong experience with constrained sites and urban logistics

Demonstrated ability managing council and authority relationships

Expertise in Construction Management Plans and Traffic Management Plans

Budget management on projects $5M-15M+

Excellent stakeholder communication and relationship management skills
