We’re looking for an energetic, organised and proactive problem solver to join our Economic Development and Place team as a Project Officer.
In this role, you’ll contribute to a wide range of Economic Development and Destination Marketing activities that enhance the business environment, grow visitation and help shape the future of Subiaco as a lively, innovative and welcoming place to live, work and visit. Coordinating events, managing project administration and supporting stakeholder engagement and communications will all be key parts of your day-to-day work as you help deliver projects that make a tangible impact across the city.

The key responsibilities of this role are to:
- Provide high-quality administrative support for the delivery of projects and programs, including preparing agendas, minutes, correspondence and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of Economic Development and Destination Marketing projects, initiatives and events.
- Prepare reports, briefing notes, submissions, presentations and other written materials as required.
- Conduct research and monitor emerging trends to ensure projects and initiatives reflect current best practice.
- Support procurement processes by raising requisitions, monitoring budgets and ensuring timely payment of invoices.
- Update and maintain the branch’s intranet and website content to ensure information is current and engaging.
- Compile and analyse data and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of projects and initiatives.
- Liaise with internal teams to support effective communication, collaboration and project delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with community groups, local businesses, government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Represent the City at meetings, events and external committees, promoting the City’s programs and services in a professional manner.

Essential criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent written communication and report writing skills, both analytical and creative.
- Demonstrated project management, administration and organisational skills including experience with coordinating projects and initiatives.
- Experience and interest in event management and delivery, marketing, communications, and business engagement.
- Ability to manage competing projects and deadlines with attention to detail across a wide range of administrative functions.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is desirable.
Contract period:
This role is offered as a two-year fixed-term contract to cover a period of parental leave, with an estimated contract end date of 22 June 2027, or until such date that the substantive role-holder returns to work, if this occurs earlier.
Salary package:
In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 5 and the salary range is $86,452.08 to $96,200.00 per annum, exclusive of superannuation.
