About the Role
As a Building Estimator, you will be part of a fast-paced, hands-on team responsible for assessing property damage and preparing quotes for insurance repairs. Your role will involve a mix of site visits and office-based responsibilities using internal systems. Reporting to the Director, you will work alongside a supportive and experienced team, with access to ongoing training and plenty of opportunities to learn on the job. Duties
Accurately estimate costs and prepare detailed quotes for insurance repair projects
Conduct site visits and inspections to assess residential and commercial insurance claims
Coordinate and manage repair operations, including scheduling and supervising trades with administrative support
Communicate effectively with clients, insurance companies, and internal teams to provide updates and address concerns
Complete on-site assessments and reports using internal systems
Collaborate with estimators and trades to validate scopes of work and pricing
Skills & Experience
Background in the building trade industry – carpentry highly desirable
Previous estimating experience (insurance or building repairs) preferred
Strong understanding of construction and building repairs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational skills – able to manage multiple site visits and quotes
Tech-savvy – comfortable using mobile apps and job management systems
Knowledge of Prime system (advantageous)
Familiarity with the insurance industry and code of practice (preferred)
