Catholic Education Northern Territory (CENT) operates 18 Catholic schools across the Northern Territory — from Early Learning to Secondary — including five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre, and five remote schools. The Position:
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the Group Accountant plays a vital role in supporting financial operations across the Catholic Education Office and schools. This position is responsible for day-to-day financial management, preparation of reports, and delivery of financial improvement projects to strengthen governance and systems across the organisation.
This is a full-time permanent position commencing immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
As Group Accountant, you will:
Manage financial improvement projects
Prepare and consolidate Education Trust accounts.
Coordinate audit requirements and statutory returns, including FBT.
Support budget preparation and consolidation across the group.
Manage day-to-day finance activities, including month-end and year-end processes.
Provide guidance and training to Finance team members on financial processes and systems.

About you:
We are looking for a Group Accountant who:
Holds tertiary qualifications in Accounting and is a CA or CPA.
Has strong experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Demonstrates excellent analytical, problem-solving, and compliance skills.
Communicates effectively and builds strong professional relationships.
Has the ability to maintain high standards across a complex, multi-site organisation.

This position may involve working with children. The appointment of the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with legislation.

Competitive salary $100,000 to $110,000 + super
