About the role
Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Records & Archive Undergraduate to join our Governance and Corporate Strategy Team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a student currently undertaking their penultimate or final year of study in information studies, records, or archives management to gain valuable hands-on experience in a supportive local government environment.
Reporting to the Team Leader Records, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail
- Registering and digitising records using Content Manager
- Supporting staff with training and access to records
- Assisting with audits and continuous improvement of information governance practices
- Engaging with archival collections and supporting access for staff, researchers and the public
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Currently studying in the penultimate or final year of a relevant undergraduate degree
- Passionate about information and records management
- Familiar with records lifecycle management and principles of data governance
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities
- Friendly, helpful, and able to work both independently and within a team
- Discreet and trustworthy when handling sensitive information
- Computer literate across a range of applications
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Salary for this position is as per the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
* Candidates must be enrolled in and studying the qualification for the duration of the employment term in order to be eligible
