The opportunity?

This is a unique interim opportunity to join Dale Cottages Inc, a non-for-profit aged care services organisation that has proudly supported the community for over 60 years. We provide residential as well as community-based services. Over the last 12 months we have successfully transitioned to a new residential facility with a highly engaged team and currently planning the redevelopment of our JE Murray Home. Our recent staff satisfaction survey results were excellent and demonstrated a highly engaged team and great culture.

This role will report direct to the CEO and will be an integral member of the Executive Leadership Team. You will contribute toward the strategic development of the organisation and have autonomy to lead and continue our transformation of residential care.

About you?

You are seeking an interim short-term role. You will have a least 5 years' experience in a Leadership/Managerial Management role within aged care. You will have a nursing degree, be AHPRA registered have experience of delivering quality clinical care within a highly regulated clinical environment. You will be very familiar with the Aged Care Quality Standards and accreditation. You will have experience of and ability to lead a highly engaged team change and have strong strategic and project management skills.

You have a track record of leading a residential aged care team. You will know how to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages, great culture, improvement, and professional growth. You will demonstrate strong ability to solve and seek solutions with highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

The Job- What you'll be doing

You will be responsible for leading and managing the residential care team to provide the highest standards of care and services. You will monitor the operational performance of the residential care team ensuring that Aged Care Quality Standards and legislative standards are met.

You will oversee the daily clinical governance ensuring clinical governance is in place and followed. You will contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation, developing and implementing operational plans that support the strategic direction. You will contribute to the development of budgets and monitor ongoing financial performance. You will ensure systems and processes are in place that provide the highest standards of clinical care. You will actively identify areas of improvement that will improve clinical care, safety and well-being of residents.

Your scope of responsibility will be across one residential aged care home and contributing to the planning and redevelopment of our JE Murray Home.

Your responsibilities

Lead the residential team to ensure a highly engaged team that delivers high standard care according to the Aged Care Quality Commission standards.

Oversee the daily clinical governance ensuring clinical governance is in place and followed.

Ensure the aged care standards are met on a continual basis and the standards are communicated and understood by the residential team.

Establish and maintain the performance standards and measures for all services.

Optimise external stakeholder relationships with allied health, medical practitioners and other health services, ensuring services are to a high standard.

Ensure systems and processes are in place that maintain clinical governance.

Manage resources to ensure safe and effective delivery of care.

Ensures systems are in place that manages equipment and assets that residents may need.

Oversees the management of the residential teams training and development plan.

Provides reports and information to the CEO and Board as required.

Manage residential financial budgets to ensure financial liability.

Leads the residential team and models excellent leadership behaviours.

Establishes and maintains IPC procedures.

Actively identifies areas of improvement that will improve the clinical care and well-being of residents.

What success looks like

The residential team continue to meet the Aged Care Quality Standards and legislative standards.

Compliance requirements are met for AN-ACC assessments and revenue optimised.

There will be a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages improvement and professional growth. (Measured by Staff Engagement Results).

What you need to know about the role

$155,000 – $165,000 p.a + Super & Salary Packaging

This role is a 12-month interim/fixed term contract, working 38 hours per week. Ideally commencing 12 January 2026 (tbc).

Working at our new Residential Facility in Armadale.
