Vanilla Zulu Culinary Adventures is seeking an experienced and motivated Catering Cook & Administrator to join our new catering business. This is a casual, job-share position offering both hands-on cooking and business management responsibilities.

About the Role

Casual approx. 20 hours per week (building in 2026)

Catering days onsite at Teneriffe: 2–3 days per week (flexible, but includes Mon to Fri and and some Sat mornings)

It is a Job-share role with another Catering Cook focused on food production on alternate days, so there is flexibility

Some administration tasks (customer orders, stock ordering, scheduling deliveries) can be done work from home across the week

Established delivery team in place to support you

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook simple catering items (sandwiches, cakes, slices, savoury items), following recipes and portioning accurately

Manage catering orders, scheduling, and delivery team bookings

Oversee daily administration and client communication

Order and receive stock for food, beverage, and service supplies

Maintain strong food safety standards and minimise wastage

Ensure compliance with Brisbane City Council food safety requirements

Reporting to the business manager and owner

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 3 years’ experience in catering, commercial cooking, or chef roles

Current Food Handler Certificate

Strong leadership and communication skills

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

Confident managing administration as well as food preparation

Availability to work weekdays and Saturday mornings
