Are you a dynamic and experienced Event Manager with a passion for creating memorable experiences? Sunset Cinema is bringing movies back to the beach at Bondi, and we’re looking for a leader to manage the entire on-site operation.

This is a hands-on, fixed-term contract role from mid-November to late December 2024.

As the face of our Bondi event, you will lead a team and ensure a flawless experience for every one of our guests.

What you'll be doing:

As the Venue Manager, you are the on-site leader, responsible for the day-to-day success of the event. Your responsibilities include:

Venue Operations: Overseeing the complete setup, management, and pack-down of the site each screening night.

Team Leadership: Hiring, training, and managing a team of casual staff, ensuring they deliver a top-notch customer experience with enthusiasm.

Operational Management: Handling all aspects of the event, from managing supplier logistics and inventory to implementing RSA guidelines and coordinating with Sunset Cinema HQ on everything from marketing initiatives to weather-related cancellations.

Customer Service: Ensuring every patron has a great time, from the moment they arrive until the credits roll.

What we're looking for:

We need an experienced event professional with a proven track record in outdoor or recurring events. The ideal candidate is a proactive and independent problem-solver with a strong background in:

Event or Venue Management: Extensive experience, with a solid understanding of all facets of event delivery, from operations to administration.

Leadership & Communication: Excellent skills in managing and motivating a team, as well as building rapport with stakeholders and patrons.

Flexibility & Initiative: The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and act on your own initiative to solve problems and seize opportunities.

Availability: You must be available for all screening nights (Tuesday to Sunday) during the season, as well as for some pre-season and mid-season administrative tasks. A current RSA and First Aid Certificate are essential.
