The City of Fremantle is currently seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Rapid Response Officer to join our Parks and Landscapes Service Team. You will be a passionate team player that has a genuine commitment to customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
Undertake reactive and programmed maintenance and high-level inspection, auditing and reporting of faults and defects for the City’s parks, gardens and reserves.
Assist with contractor management techniques and regularly assess contractor performance in accordance with various Parks and Landscape service contracts.
Maintain accurate work records, cost/job sheets, timesheets, and customer request management (CRM) forms for self and others within direct control.
Identify weeds, pests and diseases and use appropriate methods of control via mechanical, cultural and chemical control methods.
Routine site clean-up and damage inspections. Collect all litter, debris and hazardous materials and dispose of in an appropriate manner.
Identifying and reporting on general City infrastructure issues including vandalism, damage, public hazards, faults, defects, and issues.
Operate various hand tools, battery and petrol-powered equipment required for reactive horticultural maintenance and public open space presentation.
Provide a high standard of internal and external customer service and respond promptly to customer requests and in accordance with the City’s customer service charter.
Be available to work shift rosters on all weekends.
To succeed in this position, you will need to possess the following:
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience in parks and gardens or a similar environment, including practical experience with horticultural plants and equipment.
Sound knowledge of amenity horticulture, turf, tree and reticulation maintenance practices.
Proven ability to liaise effectively with all levels of stakeholders both internally and externally ensuring a high level of customer service.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Basic computing skills
A current WA ‘C’ class manual driver’s license and White Card.
