We invite you to join our supportive and dynamic social work team at Yorke and Northern Local Health Network based in Port Pirie.
Our rural generalist social workers pride themselves on being nonjudgmental, understanding privilege and power and engaging in anti-oppressive practice which incorporates cultural sensitivity.
Our work is solution (goal) focused, striving to build the capacity of adult clients with the aim of self-empowerment and increased autonomy while respecting individual values. Please note, this role does not provide services to children.
About the Role
Applying clinical experience, increasingly generalist and/or specialist clinical knowledge and professional competence, the Social Worker plans, implements and evaluates a comprehensive and integrated range of services, appropriate to the needs of the local community.
The Social Worker works under reduced clinical direction, and may contribute to the clinical supervision of less experienced allied health professionals, allied health assistants and students.
As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, including health professionals and service providers from other sectors, the Social Worker utilises a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment / therapy and evaluation approaches.
Location
Set against a dramatic backdrop of the Southern Flinders Ranges on the shores of Spencer Gulf lies Port Pirie. This historic seaport town is home to beautiful heritage buildings, fascinating industrial history and a blossoming cultural precinct.
