Fixed Term – Maternity placement position

Nagy Design is a well-established, award-winning design studio, with over 30 years industry practice, based in Clayton, Melbourne.

This is a fixed term contract, covering a maternity placement role for a period of 10 – 12 months. We are looking for a technically talented architect/draftsperson to join our team. Someone with a strong understanding of architectural documentation and the ability to liaise with multiple internal and external clients.

It involves creating both town planning and detailed technical drawings using ArchiCAD software, ensuring compliance with BCA and coordination with consultants. A strong portfolio, relevant qualifications and excellent communication skills are essential.

About the Role:

· Preparing architectural documentation, including plans, specifications, and detailed drawings using ArchiCAD, or REVIT.

· Conducting site surveys and measurements to ensure accuracy and precision.

· Collaborating with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

· Ensuring all documentation complies with the Building Code of Australia (BCA), Australian Standards, and relevant planning processes.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate has:

· Up to two years of experience as an Architectural Draftsperson, within the retail, commercial and residential sectors. Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply

· A relevant qualification in architecture, building design, or drafting.

· Advanced proficiency in ArchiCAD.

· Strong knowledge of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Australian Standards.

· Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, consultants, and team members.

· A valid local driver’s license

· A proactive and self-motivated attitude with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

· Are able to work both autonomously and as a member of a small team and meet deadlines, keeping a strong attention to detail.

· Are able to organise and prioritise work with excellent time management.

· Drive to learn and open to new ways of working while striving for quality and excellence in all aspects of work.
