The Opportunity – Dental Assistant (Gunnedah)

We are seeking a permanent part-time Dental Assistant to join our friendly and professional team at Smile On Gunnedah.

In this role, you’ll provide hands-on clinical support to our dentists, ensuring every patient receives high-quality, comfortable care. You’ll also assist our reception team as needed, contributing to a seamless and positive experience for all patients.

As part of the wider Smile On Clinics network, you’ll enjoy a supportive work environment with opportunities for ongoing training and professional growth. Casual and permanent opportunities may also be available for the right candidate.

Essential Criteria – Dental Assistant (Gunnedah)

Clinical Excellence
• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (or currently working towards completion)
• Strong chairside assisting skills with excellent infection control and sterilisation standards
• Experience in instrument preparation, clinical setup, and assisting across a range of dental procedures

Patient Care & Experience
• Compassionate, professional, and supportive approach to patient care
• Ability to reassure patients and ensure comfort throughout their treatment
• Dedication to providing a safe, positive, and welcoming experience for every patient

Administration, Reception & Practice Support
• Ability to maintain accurate clinical and administrative records
• Competence in stock control, ordering, and patient record systems
• Flexibility to assist the reception team with patient bookings, enquiries, and front-desk support as required

Compliance, WHS & Quality
• Sound understanding of WHS, infection prevention, and quality assurance standards
• Commitment to following all practice policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements

Teamwork, Leadership & Development
• Collaborative approach with dentists, hygienists, and reception teams
• Willingness to mentor, share knowledge, and support colleagues
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement
