About the role

To support the growing First Nations team within ARRCS, we are currently recruiting a position – First Nations – RAP and Cultural Coordinator. This role is being recruited on a permanent, full-time basis and attracts a salary of $47.38-$50.99 / hour.

Based in our Darwin Office, this full-time role will see you overseeing the development and delivery of our organizations Reconciliation Action Plan, this includes chairing the RAP committee, developing strong connections with supporting providers, working with Reconciliations Australia and reporting to executive on progress, amendments and outcomes. In addition, you will work alongside our Cultural program supporting them on indigenous cultural advice and advocacy across our aged care operations to allow ARRCS to provide culturally appropriate care to our residents.

This role would ideally suit a positive and proactive candidate who has prior experience within project management ideally within a not-for-profit setting. You will have worked on RAP development previously and be able to advise and report on RAP objectives and outcomes. You will have strong organization skills, be able to work with people from multiple cultures.

Skills & experience

To be considered for this role, we will be looking at the following experience and qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management or a similar discipline such as education or community sector management – Preferred however, not essential.
  • Previous experience in delivering of organisations RAP objectives.
  • Developed relationships with key stakeholders within the Northern Territory to support ARRCS delivery of their RAP.
  • Comfortable to support and educate non-indigenous staff in awareness of indigenous cultures and customs across the Northern Territory.
  • Cultural knowledge of indigenous Australians within the Northern Territory.
  • Ability to problem solve and create efficiencies within the team.
  • Current NT drivers’ licence.
  • Flexibility to travel within role to remove NT communities often for 2-3 days at a time.

ARRCS (Australian Regional Remote Community Services)

Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS) was established in July 2014 and provides aged care and community services in the Northern Territory. The services were previously managed by Frontier Services.

ARRCS operates eight residential care facilities with a combined capacity of 385 beds, and 11 community care programs in Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine, Mutitjulu and Docker River. Some of the services are specifically for Indigenous Australians.
