- $117,991 pa + 12% super (level 7)
- 72.5 hour fortnight
- Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.

Join City of Moreton Bay as a Principal Infrastructure Planner and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
As our Principal Infrastructure Planner, you’ll deliver high-quality strategic level, long-term infrastructure network planning to achieve strategic and business outcomes across all of council’s infrastructure networks.
You will lead the delivery of complex, precinct- and strategic-level infrastructure planning initiatives, working collaboratively with internal teams and external consultants. We’ll also look to you to:
- Lead and prepare complex strategic infrastructure plans, strategies and projects for all council major asset classes.
- Ensure alignment with policy and legislative frameworks.
- Provide technical expertise in strategic infrastructure planning and policy matters.
- Support the development of team capability to drive a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused culture.
- Support project-based community consultation.
- Support the development of team capability to foster a high-performance, continuous improvement and customer-focused culture.
- Build strong relationships across stakeholder groups to promote an efficient and holistic approach across the organisation.

About you
We’re seeking a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise to lead complex infrastructure planning initiatives. This role demands a someone who will thrive in a dynamic environment and can translate intricate planning frameworks into actionable outcomes. You’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, shape policy, and drive impactful infrastructure strategies across government and community landscapes.
Key attributes we’re looking for:
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate complex planning concepts and matters in a simple and concise manner (both verbally and in written form) and negotiate sustainable outcomes.
- Substantial knowledge and experience in strategic infrastructure planning and strategy development.
- Substantial strategic, conceptual and analytical skills and experience to provide infrastructure planning and strategy technical oversight and direction.
- Substantial experience in project management and associated risk management practices.
- Substantial experience in the delivery of large scale and complex infrastructure planning projects, including leading and guiding project-based teams and conducting evidence-based research to inform policy options and directions.
You will have a degree in Urban and Regional planning, engineering or equivalent as well as a current “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
