About Us:
Gloryland Early Learning Mitcham is a family-owned, purpose-built long day care center catering to up to 130 children aged 0-5. We are dedicated to fostering a love of learning in children, helping them grow into passionate and compassionate leaders of tomorrow.

The Role:
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our team in a job-share role. This role is essential in supporting our chef to provide healthy, nutritious meals and create positive food experiences for children. The ideal candidate will be flexible, team-oriented, and passionate about nutrition, food safety, and engaging children in basic food preparation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Part-time role (Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 7 hrs per day)

Assist in the upkeep and cleaning of the commercial kitchen, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met

Maintain policies and procedures in line with our Food Safety Program

Support the implementation of a six-week rotational menu

Ensure all meals meet special dietary requirements, including allergies and cultural preferences

Follow safe and hygienic food storage, handling, and preparation procedures

Maintain positive relationships with children and families around mealtime experiences

Assist with basic food preparation, dishwashing, and kitchen cleaning to support the chef

Desirable Attributes:

Relevant food handling or cookery certifications

A current Working with Children Check

A friendly and positive attitude with a passion for teamwork

Strong time management and verbal communication skills

Experience working in a team environment

Prior experience in childcare or aged care settings (highly regarded but not essential)

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education (desirable but not required)
