Wanslea is seeking a motivated and experienced leader to fill the role of Coordinator, Grandcare Program — someone who is passionate about supporting grandcarers and committed to delivering high quality, culturally responsive, family centred care.

About Wanslea

Wanslea was founded in Western Australia 80 years ago and offers services across the state. We are a compassionate, caring organisation that supports families and their children with a diverse range of programs. At Wanslea, we’re committed to cultivating a healthy, positive and growth enabling environment. We are proud of our wide-ranging benefits available to this role including:

• Permanent part-time position (22.5 hours per week)

• Based at our Cloverdale office with free parking on site, then moving to our brand new purpose built facility in Bentley in January 2026

• Salary starting from $121,193.13 per annum pro rata plus superannuation

• Opportunity to salary package

• Ongoing professional development opportunities

• Additional paid break between Christmas and New Year

• Unique opportunity to work in an organisation passionate about diversity and inclusion

• Amazing people and rewarding team culture with highly capable and welcoming colleagues

About you

You are an experienced and compassionate leader with a strong background in social work or allied mental health, who is motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of grandcarers and the children in their care.

You bring:

• A degree in Social Work (or a recognised equivalent) or relevant allied mental health qualification — and eligibility for membership in the Australian Association of Social Workers (or relevant professional body).

• Proven experience supervising a team, including mentoring, coaching and performance management.

• Strong skills in high level report writing, with attention to detail, clarity and an ability to translate data into insights.

• A solid understanding of workplace health & safety obligations, and a commitment to ensuring a safe, respectful working environment.

You excel at:

• Working both collaboratively and as a leader within multi disciplinary teams.

• Communicating clearly, with empathy, strong interpersonal + problem solving skills; able to engage with diverse stakeholders with sensitivity and professionalism.

• Managing administrative tasks with efficiency, including sound computer literacy across Windows based software and systems.

• Fostering a positive team culture: you lead with integrity, respect, and a solution oriented mindset.

If you also bring knowledge or experience in these, that will help you hit the ground running:

• Child protection / family safety frameworks.

• Representing organisations in sector forums or liaising with agencies and community organisations.

• Delivering group based services or group facilitation.

• Deep experience working with vulnerable grandcarer families, and an understanding of trauma, grief & loss, family functioning, and child development

About Wanslea

Joondanna, WA, Australia

Wanslea promotes community, family, and individual development through partnerships and services

Families and children have been at the heart of Wanslea since the organisation was established in 1943. They are still the focus of our entire organisation, which has now grown to offer services in four key areas.

•Family Support

•Out of Home Care

•Community Capacity Building

•Child Care

Through the commitment of our dedicated staff, who share our values, we are now able to reach out to families located across the Perth Metropolitan area, the Peel, Great Southern and Goldfields regions. Greater access means that we are able to help more families with a range of professional and support services.

It also means that we can be there for the children when they need us. It may be for one night because a parent is ill or it could be for long-term foster care. As always our focus is on the well being of the child. We don’t judge, we don’t discriminate, we’re there to help.
