About the role…

The position we have available is based in our Breakthru unit, in a café called Breaking Grounds which is open Monday-Friday from approximately 6.30am-4.30pm.

A popular little hub of activity, this wonderful place not only provides excellent coffee, scrumptious snacks and delicious lunches, it also plays a special role in the community -supporting people with disability to learn aspects of café operations. This means demonstrating what a great team member looks like and providing great experiences for someone learning the ropes of cafe work life. (People who are learning café operations with us, are supported by specialist team members so there is no direct responsibility for training outside of the normal support provided by any member of the team).

As a member of our team in this space, your role will include all the typical tasks and responsibilities of working in a busy community café such as serving customers with a smile, running food and assisting with food preparation. However, as our Barista, your strengths will lie in the hot beverage arts! You are a whiz when it comes to making all types of delicious coffee - perhaps even knowing how to make a frothy heart or two!

Key responsibilities include:

  • Previous work experience as a Barista, with formal training desirable (including Latte Art skills)
  • The ability to produce high quality service & coffee without compromising when under pressure.
  • Hands-on experience with brewing equipment

Whatever your situation, we are looking for people who are passionate about community connection, enjoy developing relationships with people, and genuinely get excited to see others achieve…oh and who can make an excellent coffee!
