Your new company: Our client has recently completed a major system migration and is now seeking the expertise of an experienced Fixed Asset Accountant to support a key project. With a professional and collaborative finance team, this is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical knowledge to a critical piece of work.

Your new position: This is a 6-month contract role where you will be responsible for reconciling the fixed asset register, applying tax effect accounting principles in line with Australian Accounting Standards and NSW tax law, and creating a tax fixed asset register for upload into the new system. Key responsibilities include:

• Reconciling the legacy fixed asset register with the new system data
• Applying tax effect and deferred tax accounting principles (AASB 112)
• Ensuring correct classification of assets under Div 40 and Div 43 capital works provisions
• Developing and maintaining a tax fixed asset register for future compliance and reporting
• Preparing audit-ready working papers and supporting documentation
• Partnering with tax advisors, auditors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project

What you’ll need to succeed:

• 3+ years’ experience in fixed asset accounting, with exposure to tax effect accounting
• Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and NSW tax treatment of assets
• CA/CPA qualification (or working towards) highly desirable
• Excellent Excel skills and experience with ERP system migrations advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex reconciliations
