Financial Accountant (Fixed Assets Focus) | Asset-Intensive Services Business

Join a leading asset-intensive services business during an exciting period of growth and transformation. We’re seeking a Financial Accountant with strong fixed asset experience to support the finance team through a key project phase — initially on a 3-month contract, with a very high likelihood of going permanent.

The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with complex data, detailed reconciliations, and process improvement. You’ll play a critical part in maintaining and enhancing the fixed asset register, while supporting the broader finance function with reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Fixed Asset Register — movements, disposals, reinstatements and reconciliations
• Manage large, Excel-based fixed asset schedules (88,000+ lines of data)
• Maintain fixed asset subledger integrity and support ongoing process improvements
• Prepare and analyse month-end and year-end financial statements and reconciliations
• Support external audit, statutory reporting and compliance activities
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and general ledger management
• Partner across finance and operations to streamline reporting processes
• Contribute to ongoing system and data improvement projects

About You

• Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting and controls
• Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards
• Advanced Excel skills — comfortable working with large, complex data sets
• High attention to detail with an analytical, organised and proactive mindset
• Strong communicator who enjoys collaborating across teams
• Prior experience in an asset-intensive or infrastructure-related environment is a must
